Refining a classic into a modern, distraction-free utility for Android.
Simply Tic Tac Toe™ was the foundational project of the Simply Collection™. The goal was to prove that even the most basic digital interactions can be elevated through high-precision engineering and a commitment to zero intrusive advertising.
The AI Engine: Minimax Implementation
Despite being a simple game, the "Hard" difficulty in Simply Tic Tac Toe™ uses a recursive Minimax algorithm. This ensures that the computer never makes a suboptimal move, creating a "perfect play" environment for the user. We optimized the algorithm for mobile by implementing a depth-limiting check and pruning the search tree to ensure the CPU remains cool and battery usage is negligible.
Visual Identity & Personalization
We built the UI using Material 3 standards, focusing on high-contrast neon elements against a navy backdrop. We integrated a custom theme engine that allows users to swap between palettes like "Electric Orange" and "Charcoal Neon" instantly, without reloading the activity. This level of customization is rarely found in "simple" games, but it's part of our commitment to the end-user experience.

Future Roadmap
Moving forward, we are exploring Bluetooth-based local multiplayer to facilitate off-grid play, further cementing Simply Tic Tac Toe™ as a tool for any environment. This app remains a benchmark for the Gloucester Operations engineering standard: Build for the user, protect the battery, respect the privacy.
